Living Sacrifice

Obedience is greater than sacrifice…Yet we are called to both! Yes these two words are divinely intertwined. Obedient…unto death. What a calling!!! Living to die. Friend, when Jesus asked you to follow Him..Where did you think He was taking you? Fame, fortune, reputation, world wide ministry? Hold on, just a minute there…maybe there was a prerequisite! Luke 9:23-25 says: Then He said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself AND take up his cross daily AND follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life FOR ME will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self.” It is amazing that when we are going through a difficult time, albeit loss, rejection, sickness, financial instability, that we shake our fists at our Father and shout “Where are you!!!!” yet at these times… He is the most present! I recall reading a story about three hebrew lads who were thrown into a fiery furnace and Jesus joined them! And what is more, the only thing that was burned was the ropes that bound them! One day when John Wimber was laying in a hospital bed, taking chemotherapy, a friend of his joined him and said: “John all these years you believed in healing, and prayed for the sick, where is Jesus now?” Without hesitating John replied: “You can’t see Him? He’s right next to me taking chemotherapy!” He is always where we least expect him…in our pain. He is a very present help, in time of need. If you are looking for His presence, you will find it in the place of sacrifice, a place covered in blood, an altar. The way is narrow and it is marked with sweat and tears, yours and those who have gone before you. Thats why it says in acts 7:44-53 “The most high DOES NOT live in houses made by men!” He lives IN the man! So stop staring at the smoke and start embracing the fire of sacrifice. For too long we have depended on “cults of personality” to invoke the presence of God. It is only when a man’s gift is laid upon the fiery altar of sacrifice and the dross removed, that you will truly be able to experience the presence of God. We will find Him at the altar, not mans altar ego. By the way I didn’t write this as “sermon spice” for someones sunday morning sermonette! May it become to all who read it, a fuel that perpetuates an unquenchable fire that consumes you and everyone you come in contact with. Then maybe the world can savor the fragrance of an acceptable sacrifice instead of the stench of strange fire. Smoke or fire? Presence or pretense? You decide.

My Friend

I have a friend who always calls at the exact time I need to hear His voice. He always seems to know right where I am at. We live a considerable distance from each other, yet we have an eternal connection. He is no stranger to suffering, but he never complains about it. He is often misunderstood, especially when He speaks from the other side. He is outspoken, passionate and undeniably intense, yet completely empowered by love. Many people claim to know my friend, they often drop His name when its convenient for them or when there is something to gain by it. Those same people wear little rubber bracelets with his initials on them, and then do things he would never do. This kind of thing never seems to bother Him, however I don’t think He likes it when people put words in his mouth. It is frustrating when people say you said something you never said. He is really patient, kind and long suffering and he literally loves the hell out of people..I know I have experienced this. What really amazes me is…He always says I am just like Him! I have to believe Him because he is incapable of lying…but then he continues, “and you can do whatever I do.” Truth can sound like heresy if you don’t have eye’s to see! If you want to be encouraged you should have a talk with my friend, by the time you are finished you would think you could walk on water or at least turn it into wine. I wish everyone had a friend like mine, He has thick skin and will still be around when the rest leave offended. In a crowd, we he speaks to you, it feels like there is no one else around. And beautiful…please! just being around Him makes you look good! He never asks me for favors, He always loads me down with blessings, after all what can you give to a King? Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you my friend was royalty of a vast domain…He is the King of Hearts and He is surely the master of mine. Since I met my friend the King He taught me to live my life from the inside out…He changed the sign on my heart, it now reads, “EXIT ONLY” That is the way to love. Well I got to go He’s calling on the “other” line. Why don’t you give him a call, I know he would love to talk to you!

Changing of the Guard!

After visiting the “Redrocks” visitor center yesterday( as in 2009), I was once again reminded how history always repeats itself! Although 1776 won our independence, the 1900s built and shaped this nation. In the worst economic time of our young nation, our most wonderful achievements were built. Standing at “Redrock” I realized that not only were most of our national treasures built but the modality remained the same, fathers and sons! Mount Rushmore, Hoover dam, Redrock, are just a few examples that still stand today of what can be accomplished with Gods schematic. Young people built this nation!! Thats right, thousands of young people were taken off the streets during the “depression years” and were paid, housed and fed to work with older artisans and architects, and out of that combination of fathers and sons…our nation was built! This happens like clockwork every 40 years…we are due for a massive change… not the one promised by our current president… but a sweeping “Changing of the guard” that will effect Church, State, nation and the World. Fathers (and Mothers) are awaking to fresh vision as “guidance mechanisms” Youth are awaking to fresh vision realizing they are “Nuclear Warheads” in need of “guidance mechanisms” to steer them to the target! the Elijah/Elisha embrace will give our generation a new sound, new vision and new leadership! But beware, there are many “so called” fathers who would exploit our young people and enlist them to build their little kingdoms. A true Father would provide the guidance and the materials to build the dreams of their sons and daughters! With so many twisted doctrines and threadbare theologies out there, we will really need to employ our wonderful gift of discernment to know the difference between the “fakers” and the”Fathers” Nevertheless, nothing can stop the “Changing of the Guard” Lord, this is the hour, this is the time…send us true Fathers and Mothers and turn the hearts of the Sons and Daughters back to them, and in doing so break the curse which has destroyed community and derailed the destiny of a generation, I know you will intervene..Amen

Remember when pastors were humble, prophets had a voice, apostles earned their titles, teachers were champions of truth and evangelists possessed power?

Remember when men spoke like scholars and clothed themselves with integrity?

Remember when women were gentle, graceful, dressed modestly and were highly respected?

Remember when our nation had morals, convictions and a God-fearing resolve?

Remember the challenging words of Keith Green, Martin Luther and Charles Spurgeon?

Remember your first love?

Remember your vows

to Him……….Remember?

Prophecy or Prognostication

There is a colossal difference between prognostication and prophesy! One is man guessing, the other is God speaking. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like it when I am misquoted or when people say I said something I never said. How do you think God feels when many of today’s self proclaimed “prophet’s” put words in His mouth? If you peruse youtube you will hear the Brightest and Best proclaiming words about the last election, george bush, tony blair,sarah palin, you name it, and guess what? WRONG, ALL WRONG, not even close! And the saddest part, their itineraries are full a year in advance! Friends… were not talking darts here, where you get points for just hitting the board. These people said, “Thus saith the LORD!” Where is the truth, the fear of God and discernment on behalf of the body of Christ? We need a “Changing of the guard” Blind men (and women) make terrible watchmen! The next generation deserves better! I miss leonard ravenhill and art katz…they understood the weight of responsibility, integrity and Godfearing resolve necessary to be an “oracle” of God. You don’t recieve this at some “conference” it is seared into you in the desert!!!

We desperately need some desert fathers to emerge to restore truth, and organic first century Christianity. Maybe then the world can see the difference between our current “cardboard cutout of Christ” and the genuine article! And if you are in the habit of trying to make someone’s bogus prophecy legit because you like them…remember this, “even a broken clock is right twice a day” I am afraid that’s not up to Heaven’s standards. If this stings…it is probably the truth. Goodnight

Asleep in the Light!

This isn’t a “preach” or a “rant”… this is an alarm! The so called ”watchmen” are snoring, and many of the old guard have mutes in their trumpets. To be silent now in light of the escalating insanity in the body of Christ would be criminal! Is anyone reading the Bible anymore or has it become an old school, antiquated textbook easily replaced by the latest “pulp fiction” christian novel? Matthew 24 and 25 would be a great read at this time in eternity. I would draw your attention to this section, along with a steaming cup of java , if you are so inclined! “For false Christ’s and false prophets WILL appear and perform great signs and miracles (why?) To deceive even the elect- if that were possible (it is VERY possible) SEE, I HAVE TOLD YOU AHEAD OF TIME! (He can do this because He is the Alpha And the Omega, the beginning and the end). So if ANYONE tells you, There he is, out in the desert, DO NOT GO OUT; or, Here he is, in the inner rooms, DO NOT BELIEVE IT!” What amazes me is how easily we are deceived. We don’t even have to worry bout being “deceived by the devil” when man is doing such a great job at it alone! It also is tragic that we learn so little from our mistakes. They swept the “Lakeland thing” under the rug before they wiped the egg off their faces (“they” know who they are). No one apologized, took responsibility, no one was accountable, or spent their own money to come to Lakeland to help clean up the trash the circus left behind. But we’re all the wiser for it, right? Discernment on 10, right? WRONG! We are “ASLEEP IN THE LIGHT” once again! If the “Kingdom of God is within you, why are you purchasing airline tickets to go find it? Jesus told the pharisees… “The Kingdom of God DOES NOT COME with your careful observation, nor will people say, Here it is or there it is, because the Kingdom of God IS WITHIN YOU.” You look for without, for what you already possess within! Someone has a couple of “good” meetings and up goes the revival flag, the internet’s ablaze, the rumor mill churns, PR and hype is applied, the who’s who christian cults of personality fly in to affix their seal of approval, but not before getting an impartation of “it” to take back and have the same attention in a few months! And all of this was “prophesied” by a false prophet that should have quit while he was ahead! God is not mocked! I suggest a red flag or at least a yellow one, but certainly not a revival flag. Revivals come with contrition… deep revelations of our sin, great exposure, weeping and yes, REPENTANCE! I am shocked at the reasons people board trains planes and automobiles to attend meetings…I need more of God? I need his presence,(more like, his PRESENTS) Friends, YOU HAVE HIM WITHIN YOU, WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU LOOKING FOR? GOD FORBID YOU FIND IT BECAUSE IT WON’T BE HIM! If you don’t feel his presence now, at home, at work, with your family… you have a real problem! For the Lord is a SPIRIT and where the SPIRIT of the Lord is… THERE IS FREEDOM, and where the spirit of man is.. .there is bondage! Right now, good people are opening their mouth’s and standing against the tyranny and injustice in the WhiteHouse… and they are applauded. Yet, if a good man or woman opens their mouth and stands up against the tyranny and injustice in the church, they are despised! I am sounding an alarm, ringing a bell, shouting from the mountain top; WAKE UP CHURCH, THE WORLD HEARS YOUR SNORING! You can help me make JESUS famous in our generation…Be a Voice!!! If you resonate with this message, post it everywhere! The HARVEST IS WHITE.. .Where are the laborers?
